Deckchair in Beatrice’s RCA Jacquard collection

On the occasion of its 20 year anniversary, Wawa founder Richard Ward invited a selection of textile designers to contribute a fabric to upholster his iconic folding rocking deckchair.
This was one of the first commissions Beatrice was offered after graduating from the Royal College and so she used two geometric jacquard pieces from her graduate collection.
The exhibition showcased designs from Melanie Bowles, Minnan Hui, Zahra Jaan, Carol Lake, Margo Selby, Alice Milnes, Eleanor Pritchard and Kezia Regan.
The Wawa folding rocking deckchair is a lightweight and practical design classic, constructed in East London from sustainable steamed beech, folding flat to just 6 inches.
